We are lodged in a hotel located at the confluence of 3 rivers, the Inn, Ills and Danube. This little peninsula is flanked not only by rivers, but also high bluffs sprinkled with castles, chalets, and more. Chapter 7b will be more about Passau. First, about today's two wheeling adventure.
We set off from our hotel to the very tip of this little spit of land. Down river with the Danube on our left, just to turn the corner and have the Inn river on our left. We slowly made our way through town. Apparently on this stretch, biking is verboten ... Oh well.... No one was hurt as a result of this transgression. Soon we were on a real bike path just in time to have the dubious delight of navigating through what just had to have been an entire junior high student body out for their morning walk... On this trail... Good thing they all respond to that minute bell on our handle bars.... :D. This trail along the Inn river was one of the best to experience, in my experience to date. Three bikers are proud to boast, they made it up the multiple sharp rises on the terrain in one section. This author was not one...
Up river and through the woods we go, not to grandma's house, but across the bridge to Austria! Rumor has it they have beer ther too... :)
