Day 6 Lake Bled

The recurring thought since this adventure began, is steps. Stair steps. In Ljubljana it was 69 steps to our room. In Tarviso 54 steps, Kranska Gora 48. Apparently they like to put Alice and I on the top floors.... next stop, Villach Austria. We will see what climb is there. Today the weather held well enough to have a spectacular view of Lake Bled. Deb and managed to do both the castle and the island. Whew! It was a bit of a climb up to the castle as you can see in the photos. Yup, a few steps to get there, like a few hundred. Sweated more on this climb than at any time while bike riding. The view was awesome. We beat cheeks down to our bikes, dodged a few hundred walkers to get to the boat just in time to cast off. THEN, it was 101 steps to get up to the church on the island. What did we have to do, climb the bell tower, of course! Easy climb, only 91 steps. Beginning to think this country is a stair master.....
