Scandinavia- Sweden Day 3 Day 2 riding

We saddled up to ride along the Swedish Oresund coast to the medieval town of Landskrona. First stopping in a centuries old fishing village and maritime museum. Lunch was at the Landskrona Citadel along the moat surrounding the castle. The town was founded by the Danes. Castle built in the 1400's for protection. By the 1700's the town was under Swedish control. In the 1800's it was a prison for men then 1880 to 1940 a prison for women. It was closed in 1953. Recently refurbished, it is a museum and a fabulous location for lunch. We found out the ducks will eat just about anything. 😊 Upon our return to Helsingborg, we immediately retreated to the nearest pub for an afterglow. Are you surprised?😉 We cleaned up and off we went by city bus to a licorice factory. The real stuff is significantly different than the candy. Of course, some will come back for Brenda to enjoy. Dinner was in the midst of a very interesting open air museum. A cafe that was originally a stable. The food was fabulous!! Nighttime shot from the Helsingborg castle overlooking the harbor. Denmark lights can seen in the distance. Tomorrow we ride like the wind ... with any luck the 20+ mph will be at our backs...
