Trains, trains, boats and buses today. Off we ventured to Suzhou, a 2,500 year old city on the China Grand Canal waterways. Thanks to the expert leading by our local guide, we successfully navigated the Shanghai subway system to the Shanghai train station. It was quite the squeeze play to get into the subway car...no need to hang on to anything.... We boarded a high speed train to Suzhou. Usually it is about an hour train ride, on this train, about 25 minutes. So fun! Upon our arrival, we boarded our bus to the dock for a boat ride on the canal to the city's historic Water Gate. Our boatsman regaled us with the history of the buildings along the canal and songs. More adventure to come.
