China! Day 3 part c
Every tour would not be complete without at least one factory and obligatory shopping visit, today it was a silk factory. We learned how the silk worms are cultivated and the silk is harvested. No wonder anything made of silk is so expensive. They did not made much money off of our little group although we did purchase a few small non silk souvenirs to take home with us. Last stop in Suzhou was to the Dinghui Temple, said to built at the end of the Han Dynasty around 220 AD. It is in pretty good shape for that age. We high speed trained our way back to Shanghai and this time took a taxi to the hotel. Mark, Rosanna, Carol and I have established a happy hour gathering every day so far for a few beers and snacks before evening gatherings. We found a veranda that has been quite nice. Sure hope this continues in the upcoming cities. Tomorrow we fly to Beijing!
